I've
been called an 'eclectic person',
but my cultural background is only
apparently eclectic.
I've tried to master the theories of knowledge
through a theoretical and epistemological
approach which involves both my philosophical
studies at Università degli Studi
in Milan and my continuous reading
of History of Philosophy books.
I've always been particularly attracted
by the research on perceptive phenomena.
At
the same time I've always studied
music - both at theoretical level
and through etno-musicological research.
All my interests have naturally blended
and are at the roots of my musical activity.
In 1975 I was involved in a deep study into
the musical heritage of Benin and worked
at the soundtrack for a RAI
2 documentary programme in 5 episodes,
called 'Mal d'Africa'.
I've
also played for two years in an experimental
group with Luca Francesconi, Ludovico
Einaudi, Paolo Della Porta and Riccardo
Luppi, as well as many other
musicians.
We gave a lot of concerts together
and in the meantime I got in touch with
the activity of cultural promotion.
The great vitality of that world in that
peculiar period paved the way to my choice
of working mainly for the organization
of high quality concerts and events.
In
1978 I started to gain
experience in the international
context and since then I've worked
with the best-known jazzmen in the
world. With some of these artists
I've also managed to establish personal
ties which are far beyond our professional
relationships.
I can honestly say that today I'm
one of the most appreciated producers in
Italy, as far as my field is concerned.
My job consists in organizing
both tours and personal events
(projects/activities).
I've actually got hundreds of concerts and
scores of tours on the credit side.
Since 1985 I've also been
Pat Metheny's promoter
and his Italian manager: for him I've seen
to all the activities concerning
his concerts and promotion in our Country.
In 1988 I created 'Jazzman'
of which I'm still the art director.
I've initiated several festivals in Milan
and continually work for other festivals
in Italy.
